Pheasant hunt

October 12, 2010
Wings of Oneka, Hugo

In its second year, the Pheasant Hunt is a fun and unique way to support two programs that serve Unity and Mercy's communities: The SANE Program and the Faith Community Nurse program. Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE nurses) provide acute sexual assault care services at six hospitals, covering four counties. Each year they care for more than 230 patients ages 12 and older, as well as provide education about assault and domestic violence to our communities. The Faith Community Nurse program at Unity and Mercy partners with 35 faith communities, representing many different denominations, to promote the overall health of the congregation. It works to empower members to become active partners in managing their health, including physical, mental and spiritual health.

Two hunting sessions are available: an 8 a.m. start and a 2 p.m. start. The $195 event cost includes hunting guides and dogs, a hunting cap, lunch or dinner, a box of shells and bird cleaning. For event information and to register, view the 2010 Pheasant Hunt flier.

Toys for Joy/Christmas at SACA

Employees and friends of Mercy & Unity Hospitals brighten someone's holiday by giving to Toys for Joy and Christmas at Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA). Every November and December, drop boxes throughout the hospitals collect non-perishable food, hats, mittens and toys for those local programs. Cash donations are also accepted.

2010 Crystal Ball: A Night of Stars

The awards show-themed event raised more than $240,000 to support the Family Birth Centers and other Women's and Children's programs and services at Mercy and Unity hospitals. A special thank you to the more than 500 attendees and the many sponsors, employees and volunteers who made this event possible.
